Sophia Dimitropoulos is the founder and director of YourKidsEd.  As a mother with three school-age children, Sophia noticed she was becoming frustrated with the time it often took to trawl through the internet to find educational resources for the kids.  There were times when she needed to find homework help resources, school information, or educational activities.  Online searches did not always provide relevant and comprehensive results.

Sophia realised she had found a gap in the availability of education information on the internet.  Using her marketing background, undertaking countless hours of ongoing research, and mustering loads of enthusiasm and stamina, she embarked on the YourKidsEd journey.

YourKidsEd was established in August 2008, and is now visited by over 10,000 Australian parents every month.  Dozens of experts now contribute articles, and educational and parenting information. There are over 1000 pages of articles, news and links.  In its first year, YourKidsEd was shortlisted in the Category of 'Best New Website' in the NetGuide Web Awards.  Recently, YourKidsEd has formed a collaborative partnership with the Australian Parents Council, to bring you even better content.

It is Sophia's hope that the fantastic sites, tips, products and activities uncovered within these pages will help you and your family as much as they have helped hers, along their exciting education journey.

YourKidsEd is dedicated to providing Australian parents with information about education for their children, from primary through to secondary school and in preparation for university and their careers.  Our goal is to make it easier for Australian families to make choices by sourcing relevant and comprehensive information relating to the education of children in once concise, relevant, and easy to navigate site.

At YourKidsEd,we believe that learning starts in the home, and we are committed to becoming the leading information source on the education of children.  You will find articles on issues of concern to parents, links to relevant sites, products and services, educational activities, information on schools and events.

Another of our goals at YourKidsEd is to make this resource relevant to all Australian parents.  While much of the information aplies nationally, we are also including state-specific information, news and events.

YourKidsEd is also about community and the sharing of ideas.  This is a website for parents by parents.  We encourage other parents to share their ideas by participating in discussion forums relating to their children's education, and suggesting and sharing useful websites, articles and news.  From time to time, we intend to conduct surveys, vote on issues, and have competitions with educational prizes to be won. We invite our visitors to register (free) in order to participate in our community.  Registered users will also receive regular updates on news, links, articles, competitions, and featured products!

At YourKidsEd, we welcome submissions from educators and other relevant organisations on events,  programs, competitions, media releases, new educational products or services, relevant research and studies, etc.
