July 2009 Many young Australians feel their career prospects are doomed, according to a new survey released today, the eve of official figures expected to signal a rise in unemployment.
It reveals that almost two-thirds (64%) of 16 to 24 year-olds are losing sleep over their job prospects due to the current climate. Further, despite half (49%) of those polled reporting they aren’t working in their preferred industry, 41% confess they’re much less likely than ever to look to change jobs.
Universal Music is among Australia's most creative companies offering internships through the V RAW scheme. Universal Music Australia's Nadya Balzarolo says: "Workers aged from 16 to 24 may potentially be hit the worse by the economic environment, and we want to set an example for Australian business by taking responsibility for ensuring there are ways into hard-to-reach industries.”
“Schemes such as V RAW play an important role in finding creative talent and matching it to Australia's most inspiring companies, with a massive benefit for both."
V RAW offers a job a week in the music, TV/film, gaming, fashion and design industries through its website V RAW.
