World Environment Day Art Competition 2012 - Entries Close 18 May

18/05/2012

World Environment Day is not just about recognizing our environment but also about encouraging people to 'think and be green'.  This year's theme is Green Economy: Sustainable Agriculture and Clean Energy.

Create an artwork that reflects on this theme – you could focus on organic farming, exploring companion planting, where marigold flowers are planted amongst crops to attract flying insects away from the vegetables, or you could create a landscape picture where wind farm windmills or solar cells are featured.

Open to entries from children aged 5 - 12 years old, this nationwide, annual competition and exhibition encourages environmental awareness through the arts, with the aim of educating children and their families to integrate sustainable actions into their everyday lives.

Formats invited are: Fine Art, Digital, including photographs, short animation and short film. Entries close May 18, 2012.
